Hallelujah! The Galilee at the Beach week-end was a good time had by all! Approximately 60+ people attended the services held at Myrtle Beach, SC. Some arrived on Friday night and attended the movies, Saturday was ‘on your own’, and Sunday others arrived and all attended the 9:45 am services.
All joined in the singing of ‘Every Praise’. Rev. Taylor, with the assistance of the Galilee Communion Stewards, served Holy Communion to the waiting congregation. After Holy Communion, Rev. Taylor explained the ‘washing of the feet’ service as performed by Jesus with His Disciples before the Passover Festival.
Sister Donna Williams explained maintaining the cleanliness of the feet, protecting the feet, and how infirmities could enter the body through the feet. After Rev. Taylor and Sister Williams (pictured right) washed each others’ feet and Brother Allyn McLean and Brother Artis McArn (pictured left) washed each others’ feet, Rev. Taylor washed all of the ladies’ feet and Brother McLean washed all of the men’s feet.
More than ever the reality of John 13:14-17 was seen and experienced…Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
Come join us for Sunday Worship Services at Galilee United Methodist Church-Laurinburg, NC on McGirt’s Bridge Road!
